The Riverdale Meet was a huge success for our program and we made the trip with 11 lifters total.  Most of the lifters from our team were first time lifters.  We had 3 girls and 8 boys competing at the meet and the goal of this meet similar to the Adams meet was to hit white lifts and set PR's to build on at later meets.  The team responded to this challenge and we had a great meet with all first time lifters having made all of their attempts.  The results of the meet are as follows -

BOYS

Matt Grutza - 242 Lbs     Total - 1,200 Lbs (This ties a 4 year old record set previously by our first ever state competitor Kyle Morse.  Nice job Matt)

Jimmy Steinhorst - 153 Lbs      Total - 1,085 Lbs - this is a new PR for Jimmy who is making great strides this season

Tyler Hovland - 123 Lbs      Total - 730 Lbs

Garrett Volz - 198 Lbs       Total - 955 Lbs - Garrett hit a huge 430 Lb squat breaking his previous PR in that lift

Hunter Christensen - First time lifter  - 275 Lb class - Hunter had a 530 Lb total and looked very solid while competing for the 1st time ever

Colin Gander - First time lifter - 132 Lbs - Colin had a total of 545 Lbs and squatted more than 1 1/2 times his body weight

Brett D'Abate - First time lifter - 275 Lb class - Brett had an impressive 765 Lb total for his first time lifting at a meet

Bob Griep - 153 Lbs     Total - 610 Lbs

GIRLS

Lexi Ward - First time lifter - 165 Lbs - Lexi shows some very promising potential in her weight class and she did a great job for her first time lifting at a meet and had a 425 Lb total

Danielle Knight - First time lifter - 165 Lbs - Danielle had a very strong start to her first season and had a 255 Lb total

Nicole Gantz - 142 Lbs - Nicole had a strong start to the day and did not make her attempts in the deadlift.  Nicole will be in action again at the Dells home meet

The team did an outstanding job and showed some class in doing it - we received numerous compliments from judges and coaches about how we ll we looked competing and about our team character.  Our wonderful managers Rachel and Katie also deserve a great compliment for their hard work and energy to keep our team in line - Nice Job Girls
